I thought he might take 1 or 2 blurry pictures and we would be done. He asked to borrow my phone to take a picture to send to Mr. When he was done, the pride was bursting from his chest. This lead to 2 straight days of working on his masterpiece. This time with no help, no encouragement, no reminders to work. Last week, for whatever reason, he got inspired to build again. As an adult, I can sympathize with him… there are projects I start that I just don’t want to complete because they seem too daunting. He had gotten it to a point it could be played with and didn’t have the motivation to finish it. In fact it sat on a shelf for a long time. At the start of last year, he needed some help with the sorting of pieces and finding all the tiny pieces but his building and following directions was impeccable. The box says it is for 9-14 year olds, and contains 1254 pieces. One year ago, Legoman recieved The Millennium Falcon Lego set for Christmas from his Nonni. No big surprise there right? Have I told you how much he loves them? Have I told you about how he has an uncanny ability to create things that are always symmetrical and intricate? Have I told you he spends hours on projects and kits, and challenges himself to complete kits that are meant for 14 year olds? You might have guessed by now that Legoman loves Legos. This something made me realize how important it is to see the world from the eyes of child. Something that made me realize how special childhood is. Something amazing happened the other day.
